One of the best and simple video players out there for Android. Beautifully designed with Material You. Packed with features, from swipe gestures for volume and brightness, to network playback of any MP4 or HLS video URL, to 200% volume boost. It even supports subtitles! It's like the YouTube app, except for local videos. A big plus is that it's free and open source. Samsung's video player has nothing on Next Player!

It was a good media player. But when i today played a 1080p video the temperature rose to 39°c degrees. Just for making sure that it wasn't something wrong with the phone or the video i tried downloading another media player, i let my phone cool down then played the same video again with the other media player and the temperature didn't get anywhere above 34°c. However aside from the temperature issue everything else with Next player was fine.

Perfect. A light and pretty player which does it all. It's the first one I found that lets easily select default audio and subtitles language in the settings. Also, it plays all audio formats, including dts, which is why it became my replacement for the MX player, which sadly doesn't. EDIT: The audio and subtitles language settings do not hold, I have to change them for every video file. Hope it's a bug that will be fixed.
